Thanks Thagrol,
Indeed - here is some more info.
Option 1 - as is
Pi 5.
Baseboard and case - Waveshare Ethernet Module case - https://thepihut.com/products/gigabit-e ... berry-pi-5
Option 1 - potential
As option 1 above plus
Waveshare PoE M.2 HAT+ (B) - https://www.waveshare.com/poe-m.2-hat-plus-b.htm
Waveshare PCIe To 2-CH PCIe HAT - https://www.waveshare.com/pcie-to-2-ch-pcie-hat.htm

Option 2
Pi 5
Waveshare PoE HAT (H) - https://www.waveshare.com/product/raspb ... -hat-h.htm
Waveshare PCIe to ETH and M.2 Adapter - https://www.waveshare.com/product/raspb ... t-plus.htm

I have option 1 working - using USB power and a USB SSD. I need to change this to be PoE and M.2 NVME boot - hence the Option 1 - Potential.
Option 1 main problem - the case is far too low to support more than 1 HAT. Need to find other case that has same outlets and supports "side boards".
Option 2 Main Problem - Again the case. I can find a tall case that fits the 2 HAT's stacked - BUT it is Aluminium and doesn't have a cutout for the second GigE port - so woud mean some metalwork on my part. (case - https://thepihut.com/products/kksb-hat- ... berry-pi-6)

Back to my original question - how do I achieve 2 x GigE (1 that is PoE) with M.2 NMVE boot in a suitable case.

Hope this clarifies - look forward to any suggestions.

thanks

M.
