Just a random idea but.
Couldn't you just connect a camera module with composite video output to a PIO of a Pico W, and then provide still images on a webserver running on said Pico?
I mean I've seen projects doing just that, but in the "other direction". The Pico acts as a video game console generating a composite video signal, and you can play Pong on an old-fashioned TV (example).
The trickiest part may be generating an actual dynamic website (you might pull it off by using thousands of SSI tags). It will be slow yes, but as to still images a Pico ought to be able to deal with the data volume. Thoughts?
