Other RP2040 boards • Re: $4 RP2040 and FPGA board

Still completely irrelevant.
What is ?

I would consider a report from an actual user that they achieved nearly 50 MHz operation to be pretty relevant as to how fast the chip operates.
For example the old Altera Cyclone II has 'only' 10 MHz On-chip Oscillator but wipes the floor with the SLuG.
So ? I don't see what the relevancy is. That there are better FPGA available is as irrelevant as there being faster PC's and faster alternatives to Raspberry Pi SBC's.

I don't understand why you have such a 'downer' on this product because of the FPGA it uses.

Buyers can spend their $4 and get an RP2040 plus SLG47910V on a Pico-style board, or they can buy something else. Whether it is worth buying or value for money is up to the purchaser to decide.

If someone wants to spend $4 and get an RP2040 and SLG47910V on an assembled PCB then what exactly is the problem ?

No one claimed it's using the best or fastest FPGA available, but $4 is about a tenth of the price of what other boards with an RP2 included seem to be available. $4 is a reasonable price for an RP2040 board even if the FPGA is never used. The Raspberry Pi Pico costs $4 without any FPGA.
