Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Kernel modules missing for "softdog"?

softdog is the name of the linux module that emulates a watchdog device for (old) platforms that lack the facility.
It's not used in general on Pi since the platform does include a hardware watchdog device.
OK understood.
But even before I installed watchdog - and meanwhile it is removed already - nfs-server doesn't start due to missing 'softdog' dependency.
So does it mean the hardware watchdog service from the Pi 5 is somehow not properly "considered" in the kernel?
Or is it something that needs to be fixed in "nfs-server" package / service itself (to not depend on 'softdog'?)? If that's the case, would this still be Raspberry Pi OS related or do I need to go back to OMV?
