I run a Python program (started as a systemd service), and suddenly the board stops working

Are you sure the board has stopped working? Have you tried to connect to it over ssh, UART, etc.? Have you connected a monitor to see what it's up to?
while the green LED on the board starts blinking at exactly 1Hz (0.5s on, 0.5s off) until I unplug and plug back the device. This blinking doesn't correspond to any LED error code documented here

After reconnecting, everything works normally again, but the bug reappears at a random moment. No log shows any error.
Does someone have an idea on what could cause the issue?

Thank you
A lot of disc I/O going in in 0.5s bursts?

Has the python programme repurposed the status LED?
