Hi,
I was just wondering what role the ATSHA204A cryptographic chip connected to the CSI interface in the RPi V2 camera plays?
I know that image sensors can be permanently destroyed by receiving incorrect supply voltages from a host board and that if the wrong device tree and/or wrong drivers are loaded the image sensor won't work correctly so I'd guessed that the ATSHA204A was used as a non-volatile store of information to identify the camera module connected and perhaps to store information needed to load the correct device tree and driver or to store image sensor specific information which could then be used by the driver?
I saw that the ATSHA204A isn't present in the RPi V3 camera so I'm guessing that the RPi V3 camera stores this information in the image sensor itself or in the driver?
