It is the secondary display monitor. As mentioned in my initial post, the mouse pointer is visible moving from primary to secondary display. But other than that no content, no desktop etc.

Are you talking about the second hdmi port? (Note: Pi's support a range of displays, e.g. hdmi, dsi, dpi, spi, composite).
