I didn’t think the 32 bit OS worked on a Pi5?

I.e.:
It doesn't.

It uses a 64bit kernel, unlike the other 64bit Pi that can use either kernel.

The kernel *is* the OS. Just ask Linus.

Userland is, well, userland.
