Use nmtui for networkmanager configuration but its highly unlikely there is a configuration problem, ethernet works out-the-box. Try a different ethernet cable.
If you want to go beyond nmtui's capabilities then use the command line nmcli because editing networkmanager files directly is fraught with problems.
