In my experience plastic housings can have any sticky-out obstructiveness whittled away with the use of a metalworking file.It does look like it blocks pins on the next row
The main challenge is holding them while doing that. Pressing them on a surface helps, as can holding them with stub-nosed pliers, adjustable or monkey wrench, but a mini or modelling vice is probably best. Plugging them into a header pin strip and holding that is an option.
