Power supply being used is : Power Supply for Raspberry Pi DigiAMP+ (19V 3.4A 65W) - as recommended by the specs for the DigiAmp+ so it "should" be sufficient ...

I'll try a lower capacity usb drive to see if it will be picked up & I wil try those terminal commands later.

On the Pi5; If the power supply supports PD or you have put the over ride parameter into config.txt;

[all]usb_max_current_enable=1
..then the USB ports will give a maximum of 1600mA..TOTAL..Otherwise; it's 600mA...irrespective of what the power supply claims that it can output..

I have a little USB multimeter which is very useful...so I can see exactly how much current is being drawn by a device plugged into a port..Cost me very little on one of the Chinese online markets.
