Have you tried this with GParted?I am trying to use the CLI to format a USB stick to FAT32 format. I want to use this stick to use in my in-car music system which will only recognise FAT32. I have searched the internet and used mkfs and fdisk but cannot find a command to produce a FAT32 format (as evidenced by the Type section using sudo fdisk -l). sudo mkfs.vfat -F 32 /dev/sda1 is my best guess.
Could anyone help with this please. Apologies if I have placed this question in the wrong place on the forum but I could not find anywhere else appropriate.
