Does the average USB2 port have enough power to drive a Zero 2 W or should all but one core be disabled in the boot options?Any luck getting this to work? I'm pretty much at the same spot. Really hoping I don't have to get a ethernet usb adapter :/
Ethernet != WiFi.
Plus the ethernet gadget doesn't magically make a zero[2]W into a WiFi dongle. The best it can do is make the Pi into a router with one client - the machine on the other end of the USB cable.* But that isn't a feature of the ethernet gadget, it's OS level network configuration.
If that's what you actually want:*: Because a WiFi interface in client mode cannot be part of a network bridge.
- Install RPiOS Bookworm on the zero[2]W.
