OK.. After some head scratching and doing things over and over expecting a different result, I have loaded my new CM5 with the 64-bit Pi OS.. I must say with absolutely no assistance from the Raspberry Pi engineering crowd. The documentation is absolutely horrible. I hope I will have someone at Raspberry Pi make me eat those words and point me to suitable documentation. I am now going to attempt to load the original CM5 that I was having problem with.
For those of you that actually read the manual and try to follow instructions, the rpiboot app that the Pi folks tell you to load and use do not work with the CM5. If you are interested as to how I found this out, please send me an offline email (therealfredeady@gmail.com). Meanwhile, I'll try to track down the source of the information I obtained via the net..
My ultimate goal is to install a Yocto image on the CM5. I might be on that trail for a while judging from what I've seen so far.
Thanks to all of you that took a look at this and responded to my cry for help...
