Renewing this plea for a 128 GB SSD option in the wake of further price increases now to >£75 for the current base 256 GB SSD variant.

I can see how some would view 128 GB as microSD territory, but the stability in r/w IO that an SSD offers over microSD is enormous and essential for industrial products.

If anyone thinks there are 128 GB alternative non-Pi brand options on the market, I’d love to be proven wrong but I haven’t been able to find any that aren’t £100’s themselves due to low-volume niche territory. That’s where RPi have the advantage with a captive customer ecosystem.

This original post didn’t get much traction but it would be good to hear from anyone at RPi what the latest thinking on this is. To me it seemed obvious as they do it for RAM variants.

TL;DR we’ve now gone ~3x from £27 to £75 in two months and a 128GB option would soften this price shock 🙏
