Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Network Access?

Hmmm.

I was feeling curious so:
  • I created a simply share on my win11 box.
  • Logged into one of my Pi 5 (running Trixie in place upgraded from Bookworm) over ssh -x.
  • Launched PCmanFM (displaying on a remote X server running on my Win11 box though that shouldn't make a difference).
  • Went to "Network" under "Places"
  • Hit refresh (F5)
I'm seeing four SMB hosts. Three are RPiOS boxes running Samba. The forth is the Win11 box.

So PCManFM can show both Samba and WIndows SMB hosts (haven't tried Mac hosts).

The only question mark is that the Win11 PC is not fresh out of the box so I may have tweaked something on it. Or on the Samba servers. I do know that only one of the Samba servers have wsdd installed so only that one is visible in Windows Explorer's "Network".

OP hasn't told us which OS release they're using. Or which OS for that matter. Nor has PDM1950.

My upgraded to Trixie box is using PCmanFM 1.4.0 but a Pi running Bookworm is using 1.3.2 which behaves differently: Under "Network" I see three Pi (as I expect) and a "Windows Network" icon. Opening that shows no hosts.
