Some components are expensive one off but cheap by the thousand. Plus you can buy the chip and mount it on your own board instead of a fancy package. A Pico might interface to several sensors.

I am thinking about the two drive wheels with those castors instead of four drive wheels. Lower cost. Would work on a smooth floor then have problems over a thick rug. A more expensive design with four drive wheels and up/down controls on each wheel could drive over the thickest rug out into the garden across grass and pavers to collect leaves. Same Pi Zero 2. Just different wheels. :D
