I've already replaced my adapter with a brand new micro-HDMI to HDMI cable and the same issue persists.for you as it is working Just fine for me (and many others).
Black screen display issues result most common from:
- Bad HDMI cables and adapters
- incorrect EDID from the monitor
I mentioned in my previous reply that the rPi was working perfectly fine after a fresh install until I rebooted it, so I really don't think it's a hardware issue. That and it already had rPi OS on it which was working fine, I just decided to do a fresh install after about a year of not using it.
Also, I mentioned in my first reply that the EDID in the diag screen is as follows:
display: DISP0: HDMI HPD=1 EDID=ok #2 DISP1: HPD = 0 EDID=none #0
Also note that it's not that there is "no display" and the monitor goes to sleep, there IS display but the rPi is just stuck on a black screen.
