X11 user since my 1st dip into the Linux ecosystem in 1999 (with some Unix/Xenix experience in the late 80's for good measure) and I've found it on the whole rock solid (well apart from the odd driver issues early on in my journey) but I still prefer it over Wayland any day of the week.Me too. In the 25 years I've been using X11 (since Debian slink, which I initially ran on a couple of Amigas) I've not found it to be "very buggy" at all. Wayland is a poor substitute, lacking important features of X11, is full of bugs and is being pushed more for political and control reasons than because it's a better solution. It wouldn't be so bad if wayland hadn't been deliberately designed to break existing sw but there's the rub - it was./etc/interfaces and ifup/ifdown have been on the "deprecation" path for about a bazillion years.
X11 is on it's way out, very buggy in some ways because it's not worth fixing something slated for the chopping block, even xfce is moving to wayland eventually
Personally, I'm hoping that the X11 apps and Xserver stay around until I'm too old to type any more
I always set my Pi's (and desktop PC's when I use them) up to use it (along with XFCE for my DE) and apart from a little bit of screen tear when watching fast moving Youtube videos and when moving windows around quickly it's been rock steady.
I'll keep on trying Wayland every now and then but until it's as good as X11 currently is I prefer old and stable over nice and shiny every time.
