I'm not knowledgeable on how to use the pi, can you tell me how I can update where it's searching?

I'm getting the following error when trying to install an emulator on RetroPie:

Did not find needed dependencies: zip. Trying to install them now.
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
The following NEW packages will be installed:
zip
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 43 not upgraded.
Need to get 212 kB of archives.
After this operation, 542 kB of additional disk space will be used.

E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?
Could not install package(s): zip.

I can recognize that it's searching a repository that no longer exists, but I have no idea how to update it so that it's searching the correct one.
