I humbly point out I alluded to usb-storage.quirks in my earlier responseProblem solved. At least I hope the fix doesn't have nasty side effects.

In short: Addingwith my idVendor and idProduct to cmdline.txt solved the problem.Code:

Now, I'll install a few things over the next few days & let it run continuously to see how everything does. For now I will be running the beta of Openmediavault 8 which should come out sometime around the new year.

But my real point is that this still doesn't explain why your Full image works without adding the quirks.
