For some reason, mpd isn't working on my bookworm installation. I have tried adjusting the config file under /etc/mpd.conf in several ways, following forum threads that seemed related to my problem, to no avail.
It seems there was no db file under /var/lib so I specified a path in my home directory. I also changed the username from "mpd" to my own. No matter what I do, mpd complains about files missing (I had hoped for instance that a db file would be created if missing, but I was wrong; creating an empty file results into mpd complaining that the db is corrupted). Uninstalling and re-installing mpd form the repositories did not change anything.
