Other • Muting "New versiion available" in od Imager versions

Version 1.9.6 on Windows has also become nagware and there appears to be no option to disable that, stop it from checking for updates. Maybe I'll attack the '.exe' with a Hex Editor and see if I can change that behaviour.
Turns out it's not simple but it can be done. The main problem is Imager gets the latest version number from -

https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/os_list_imagingutility_v4.json

But, using the same trick as worked with Bookshelf, it is possible to replace that URL within the Imager executable to point to your own local web server or proxy, host a modified 'os_list_imagingutility_v4.json' file yourself, or patch the live version on the fly, to deliver the version of Imager you are currently using.

Voila! No more nagging that a new version is available.

This worked for my Windows Imager 1.9.6 and I would expect it to work for any platform or version which reads from that URL but I haven't tried it.

If only ever using images you have downloaded it's enough to point the modified URL in the executable to anywhere which doesn't resolve or deliver the file.

Or, if you aren't into hacking, you can simply build your own version of Imager with the new version check taken out.
