I would like to sincerely apologize for unintentionally hijacking the original discussion about the EG25-G modem. My questions about multitasking were off-topic from the original post.
I was operating under the mistaken belief that I was running your Android TV (ATV) build. I have since checked my build.prop file and confirmed that I am actually using the standard Android Tablet UI version. I am at a loss to explain how this occurred, but it explains why I was seeing features like the F3 key shortcut and the "Split" function.
Your explanations in the thread were correct that these features are characteristic of the Tablet UI, not the official ATV build, and this fully clarifies my misunderstanding.
In any case, I am very pleased with the Android system I am currently running. Thank you for your hard work on these builds and for your support.
