- Line 9:
That's not a usual state of affairs. You shouldn't have any packages in that state.2 not fully installed or removed. - For the first error (lines 40 to 45) it looks like apt has failed to install a new kernel or initramfs. I've no idea from the log as to why.
- For the second error block (lines 59 to 67) it appears to have failed at the same stage and for the same reason as the first.
- Which OS are you running? - Bookworm
- Which named release of it? - Debian GNU/Linux - Pretty name: Debian GNU/Linux 12
- How does your installation differ from a default one? - I don't know the default
Some suggestions:
- Make sure you have sufficient free space on both the root and boot partitions. I don't exactly know what would be "sufficient" free space. For the boot file it has 100GiB free out of 116GiB. After attempting to view root it said I don't have viewing permissions so I changed that permission to anyone instead of owner only and it said I don't have the permission for that.
- If you're using the read only root overlay turn it off. - Root permissions (Change, View, Access content) are all set to owner only
- If you're mounting the boot partition read only, turn that off too. - Boot permissions for both Access and View are set to anyone, while change is owner only.
- Do as the log suggests and post the output from mount and cat /proc/mounts - Do you want me to copy and paste the continence of it here or what?
