That's what I'm hoping; but wondered whether having a PCIe bus in the way might make a difference (other than adding latency).Probably just an oversight. The UART hardware is fundamentally the same.
Unless anyone else beats me to it, I will be testing it once I've set up a new system; I've got some code that worked fine on a Pi4.
(As a matter of interest, was a "better" UART that included RS-485 support considered at all for the Pi5/CM5?)
