Troubleshooting • Screen blanking not working PI 5

I have screen blanking enabled, but it does not blank, just leaves monitor on all the time. Fresh install,

BOOTLOADER: up to date
CURRENT: Wed 27 Aug 19:01:47 UTC 2025 (1756321307)

Raspeberry PI OS, up to date

interfaces: SSH and VNC (connect removed, wayvnc?)
apps installed: Brave

pretty minimal, no apps running.

musta done summat on my other PI's, they go to lock screen AND blank, pi4,pi400 fine
