Thanks again for the info and help.

My fork of MicroPython is a single executable which runs on Pico and/or Pico W, figures out which it is at run-time.

I similarly want to have my current executable for Pimoroni Pico Plus 2W also work on the Plus 2, and the Pico 2W and Pico 2, both of which are 'A' rather than 'B'.

The RP2040 executable and RP235X executables can then be combined into a single UF2 which can be loaded into any of the six boards I am targetting.

It should be possible to include two versions of the conditionally compiled stuff, jump to the appropriate version for 'A' or 'B' which will regain performance at the expense of even larger code size.

I can suck up the code size and execution overhead which comes with supporting both 'A' and 'B' and am not worried too much by performance. It's a price I can accept in having a single UF2 which loads MicroPython onto any of the targets.
