Troubleshooting • Rasperry Pi Booting Help

Hi all,
I'm running into a persistent boot issue with my Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB model). Upon powering up, I get the following message on screen:
SD: card not detected
USB boot requires high current (5 volt 5 amp) power supply.
To disable this check set usb_max_current_enable=1 in config.txt
Setup Details:
Model: Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB)
Boot Device: Samsung 32GB microSD card (Class 10)
OS: Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit), flashed using Raspberry Pi Imager
Power Supply: Official CanaKit 5V 5A USB-C PSU
Display: HDMI connected
No USB drives or HATs connected during testing
What I’ve Tried:
Reformatted and re-flashed the SD card multiple times using Raspberry Pi Imager.
Verified the SD card works fine in my PC (it mounts and reads properly).
Tried reseating the SD card carefully multiple times.
Powered the Pi with no peripherals connected other than HDMI.
Same issue persists: "SD: card not detected"
As a fallback, tried to boot from a USB device, but then get the current limit warning unless I press the power button to temporarily enable usb_max_current_enable.
Next Steps I’m Considering:
Flashing the bootloader recovery image to a USB stick to reinitialize the EEPROM in case it’s corrupted.
Testing another microSD card (though the current one is verified to be working).

Has anyone encountered this behavior with the Pi 5?
