MicroPython • Re: I2C LCD Display with Pi Pico W - Mega Frustrating

I thought that Thonny would have a library installed with it, which there does seem to be burried under the c:\programfiles(x86)\Thonny folder which is where machine.py is.

I created a /Lib directory on the Pico and put the i2c_lcd.py and lcd_api.py files in it by still get an error that lcd_api is not found. As resault I've been groping around Thonny and looking at thew Tools-Manage Packages and trying searches in that, it finds 'i2c_lcd.py' @PyPi but does not find lcd_api.py . Even for the file it finds the <INSTALL> on the left side when I use it squawks that '"This doesn't look like a Micropython/CircuitPython package. are you sure you want to install it'. That instills zero confidence to say yes at this stage because I've no idea where Thonny will put it or how to remove it if its duff.

I think I've run headlong into a wall with this. It is no wonder that software is so full of bugs when there is no consistency to things.

Thank you very much for the help this far, I can't do more today as I've been at it too long. I'll look in again tomorrow and maybe there will a flash of inspiration that is currently missing.
