I just tried, and my M1001(s) won't play them. I can navigate to them, it shows track title and other details, but fails after displaying "Preparing to play ...". My files have an m4a extension and were created using ffmpeg (ffmpeg -i in.mp3 -c:a aac -vn out.m4a)Are there any Roku Soundbridge M1001 users here who have managed to get the Soundbridge to play .aac files?
These are very old media players (mine show © 2006). I think they relied on a feature of iTunes at the time that could decode m4a on the fly. I don't think that owntone (or mt-daapd, which I think I'm still running) supports that feature.
They work fine (if very slowly, for a 48000 track library) with any mp3s I can throw at them.
