General discussion • pi5 not booting into any os except ubuntu server headless

I recently bought a Raspberry Pi 5 along with the official 27W power supply and a SanDisk Extreme 64GB microSD card. Initially, I set it up headlessly using Ubuntu Server with SSH and VNC, and everything worked perfectly.

Later, I decided to switch to Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit) with custom settings. I reflashed the SD card and attempted to run it headlessly as well. However, the Pi doesn't seem to boot with Raspberry Pi OS.

Here’s what happens when I plug in the power:
1. The red power LED turns solid for a second.
2.Then the green LED comes on solid for a couple of seconds.
3. After that, the green LED starts blinking, as if it's reading from the SD card.
4. Then it goes solid green again briefly, followed by a very short red LED flash.
5. After that, it returns to a solid green LED and stays that way.

I’ve tried reflashing Raspberry Pi OS multiple times, but the behavior remains the same. When I flash Ubuntu Server again, it boots and runs without any issues.
I also tried reflashing the bootloader with my same sd card and after that flashing it with a fresh image but nothing happened. just to be sure i also tried the same thing with a 16gb sandisk sd card.
It seems that only Ubuntu boots correctly, and any other OS fails to start. I'd really appreciate some help figuring out what's going wrong.
