how to install ttymidi-sysex is a bit of a problem really the olny solution I got working
previously (Pi5 was the last time I manged to do it) was nanoing into ttyimidi.c and pasting ttymidi-sysex, there is not a lot on
That's strange that you got ttymidi-sysex working and not the Zynthian one... They are the same, except mine has an Alsa backend, and theirs has Jack.
In any case if you have some doubts about the MIDI serial speed setup, I have a small Python script to test this on the raw serial port:

You'll have to stop the ttymidi* services or it will conflict.
