Try each of the HDMI ports on the Pi5. - Only the one on the right works with this cable (maybe the adapter is too thick and collides with the power cable).
Try each of the HDMI ports on the display - The one I am having problems with has only one HDMI port (1 HDMI and 1 micro VGA).
Try another display, if available. - Still doesn't work (HPD=1 EDID=none as on the other display) So maybe the adapter is just broken (I have an hdmi-hdmi cable with an hdmi to micro hdmi adapter (I'm having problems with that one) and the hdmi to micro hdmi cable which works fine.
Try another hdmi cable if available. - I have it connected to another monitor which is difficult to reconnect, but the other monitor works fine with the second cable.
Try another Pi if available. - Don't have one (yet
)
Can you narrow down the location by wiggling the cable? - Up and down breaks the connection, left and right does nothing.
Is it at the Pi end or the display end?
Does it come/go when you apply light pressure to the HDMI connector (either on the Pi side or the display side)? - The Pi side with light pressure; the other side is full hdmi plug, so it does not move.
