The need for crossover cable has been long gone. Pi4 and 5 have native Gigabit Ethernet. Gigabit Ethernet does not have dedicated send and receive lines, but all 4 pairs are send and receive at the same time. So just use a standard cable.So I bought a 10' crossover cable and am working on this method. Any links to this approach would be greatly appreciated.
Choose an IP net: 192.168.180.0/24 for example
The first Pi gets the address 192.168.180.1.
The second one gets 192.168.180.2.
Use Ping to verify communication.
