What happens if you put tightvnc on the back burner for now, and enable VNC server in raspi-config.
On a Pi4 with 2GB or more that will run wayvnc (1GB will switch to vncserver-x11-serviced)
All my Pi4s running Bookworm 64-bit are fine with that, using VNC Viewer remotely. All are fully up to date.
