Astro Pi • sense.low_light error

I have both version 1 and 2 sense hat, I get this error on both, when trying low_light options

fcntl.ioctl(f, self.SENSE_HAT_FB_FBIORESET_GAMMA, cmd)
OSError: [Errno 25] Inappropriate ioctl for device

please advise
