What do you mean saying that display works? How do you check that it works?
What is that 2.4" gpio shchv screen? Is it SPI, HDMI or any other display?
The latest Peppy player versions use Bookworm version of OS. There are changes in the OS which make it difficult to make it working with SPI displays. If you have SPI display I'd recommend to use older version of the player e.g. Kandinsky Edition.
it's the way the SW writes to them which prevents people from using SPI screens with peppy player
