I'm currently in the planning stages of a small project and I'm in need of some feedback to make sure I'm not going insane.
I'm trying to use a raspberry pi zero 2 w to act as a sort of smart flash drive that can make files on a NAS server available as soon as it's plugged in. My current plan for this would be something like this:
Flash drive is plugged in -> Mounts a file on the pi as a volume -> all file system requests are then intercepted by some program that fetches the data from the NAS on the fly. I was thinking that the pi could access the internet using ethernet over USB. This way the entire system is plug 'n play and you don't have to do any sort of configuration to access the files.
Could anyone more experienced weigh in on this and tell me if it makes sense?
Thanks in advance.
