Hello all.
I need advice. I want to buy a USB to SATA/IDE device.
But i read, they have unreliable power supply,
What if i make my own power supply for HDD IDE 3.5 ?
I have power supply with 12v and 2A or 3A. As I understand it, if I need 5 volts, I can get it from a DC to DC converter?
And main question, in Molex 4 pin connector, 2 black wires, are they connected to each other?
If they are not connected, then i can easily take any stable 5V and stable 12V and connect to HDD IDE 3.5 via molex connector.
Or if I'm buying an all-in-one kit (USB to SATA/IDE unit + with power supply) - is that a better choice than making my own power supply?
Buying an old, not new, desktop PC is the last choice.
I'm limited on money and can't do my own research on better choice. So , i'm asking for advice.
