The format I am using is ARGB8888, it seems that the first 8 bits (A) is ignored for 24 bit displays. So it should be compatible. As long the framebuffer depth is set to 32 bit. Maybe it can switch to 24 bits for some other reason like HDMI etc.
I have to test the Touch2 display with a Pi4 to see what the framebuffer depth is, and why it would be different from a PI5
