I'm very happy with the results provided by this 20€ DAC HAT (a 50% slash over the equivalent HifiBerry price). The manufacturer boasts it can handle 384 KHz at 32 bit (PCM5122 based). It even features a separate power input for the DAC, to avoid any ripple or noise coming from the Pi supply. The DAC only takes around 50mA, so I'm thinking of using an old phone charger with additional heavy filtering or even a power bank for performance testing. Right now it's feeding a Sony SRS D3 set, with great results.
