The problem is the code wasn't completely finished, specifically the "read" method is missing.
More important, it needs to play well with the existing robot software, libraries, and methods. That's why I haven't just chucked the whole thing and started fresh - the pieces have to fit snugly.
I have a separate piece of code that was originally intended for the Grove Pi, and it works. I am going to study the code side-by-side and try to figure it out on my own. Though I appreciate the offer, I won't learn as much if everyone else does my programming for me.
This posting is already a small novel as it is
and I'd rather not try your patience with something I should be able to do.
