Thanks for answering! Ok I can try and give that a go. Just to add some details I don't have a micro sd card and was just using the nvme. In the link you referenced it mentions to trigger the network install I'd need to also have "no bootable storage device". Would the alpine linux I installed on the nvme count as bootable storage and would I need to disconnect it but then I have nothing to load the OS into right?It is possible to override the boot sequence and request the Raspberry Pi 5 enter the Network Install mode:

By holding down SHIFT while powering on the Raspberry Pi you should be able to boot into a Network Booted Raspberry Pi Imager application and then write a fresh OS to your NVMe drive (overwriting whatever you have on there).
