Compute Module • Re: RTC Backup domain memory with battery (CM5)

Hello everyone,

I've been searching for information on this topic but haven’t found exactly what I need.

I come from an STM32 background, where the MCU provides a backup domain—a set of 32×32-bit registers that retain their values even when power is off.

I'm looking for a similar solution for the CM5, where it can remember its previous state without relying on file writes or other high-level mechanisms. Ideally, I’d like to use ultra-fast internal registers for state retention.

Does the CM5 have such an option, or is the backup battery solely for RTC timekeeping with no additional memory available for retention?

Thanks in advance!
how frequent will you have to use them and what is your target write spead? Can't you make use of i.e. an SPI FRAM?
