Beginners • Re: Pi4B with external Nvme SSD

Don't know about an external NVME, but I boot & run an external M2 SSD with my RPi4/4GB OK.

(Standard PSU, & from a USB3 socket.)

I have two pi 4’s. One with 4gig ram and the other 8gig ram. The one with 4gig ram runs external M.2 SSD and runs without any issues.

Apparently the one with 8gig that has the Nvme SSD, the external Nvme ssd has power but does not show up when I do a “lsblk -l”. Only the SD Card shows up. This external Nvme is a crucial gen 4 PCIe SSD.
