Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Pi OS Lite missing libraries for VNC

Lite does not have any desktop environment or VNC server installed by default, so there's something more going on than missing libraries. What did you do to install a desktop and VNC server on top of Lite? In theory, that shouldn't be a problem, and APT should take care of dependencies, but it's possible that there's a Debian packaging bug or similar (e.g. a package in the APT repositories with missing dependencies).

I would not recommend using Lite if you want a desktop, just use the normal RasPiOS Desktop install, avoid the pain, and have a system which is far more supportable. While you can throw together your own desktop on top of Lite, you end up with a system which is unique to you, so getting help from others is much more problematic. If you really want to, and I don't recommend this, you can start with Desktop and carefully remove unwanted packages, if you need a supportable desktop environment with less than the standard install.

SSH is how you remotely manage Lite.
