Compute Module • Re: Looking for a small (2.8"-4") supported DSI touch screen

You've missed that they've just routed the backlight LED drive out to a 0.1" header. Spec sheet says backlight should be 19.2V at 40mA, and in the image on Tindie they've bodged that onto the 12V from the CM4IO board. Do you need backlight control, and do you have a 12V supply around?
Again I am kind of confused. Because I didn't all out everything, it seems like you assumed I missed that detail, or that I hadn't read the datasheet. I was talking simply about the bulk of the board.

I have worked with DSI displays that needed extensive additional circuitry even though they were "just dsi", that is why I called out the relative simplicity.

Can we move past this kind of thing?
simply related to this
..
Looking at that board, It appears little more than some passives are required to drive the board.
a hint (!) that the board linked by you is lacking the backlight driver and running the display at max VCC.

There are people here not that experienced as you (and not only you reading this post) -> good to let them know that said board may not be the perfect approach for supplying the display/driving the backlight. Sure, working, but should be changed if not just tinkering with the TFT.

You know what to do, all the best.
