I cheated and got a CM5 with I/O board. According to my abacus cost about £9 to get 32Gb of eMMC and sacrificing the SDcard reader. The eMMC IOzone result for 4k random read/write is 46042/69343 (yes I did get a better write result). My ADATA NVMe gives 81539/254559 (also 4k random read/write) - I have it for /home and the eMMC is /.
I am jolly pleased with my setup for daily driver - miles more responsive than the RK3399 SBC I have been using the past few years. Then again it is 8Gb memory instead of 2Gb as well. But no problems with my LibreOffice, Firefox, GNUcash and fotoxx usage.
