Everything is on the SD card, and you have several options. The most draconian being to wipe the card and reinstall the OS onto it. Everything that was on the card will be lost, which is fine if that's what you want.Hello,
I am new to the forum and need some help! I am based in southern England, not far from Winchester.
I have a Pi 3 model B which I use for receiving aircraft position data (ADS-B).
I set it up about 4 years ago and it worked very well.
However, I now have a new home WIFI router, which requires me to login to my Pi and change some SSID info.
However, I cannot remember my login name or password.
Also, I now want to connect to a different aircraft tracking service.
So, I want to go right back to the beginning and start all over again.
How do I restore my Pi to the factory settings that existed when I received my Pi 4 years ago?
Once I start from fresh I have other instructions to follow in order to connect to the new aircraft tracking service.
Thanks
Tony
Another option is to get a new SD card and install the OS. You can put the original card aside in case you need to get anything from it later. Nothing from the old card will persist in the Pi to affect the new card.
Even though you don't remember the Pi username and password associated with the original SD card you can still access the files on it by putting it in to a card reader and using another Pi (or the same Pi booted from another SD card).
A third option, therefore, is to get access to the files on the original card and edit them to clear the password so that you can boot from the original card and login again.
